Twede's Cafe Mural
About the Project
At the beginning of August, I received incredible news — I had won an artist competition to restore the legendary mural at Twede’s Café (RR). Any pop culture fan knows this diner: it’s the iconic filming location at the heart of Twin Peaks, created by David Lynch and Mark Frost. This is where the story began, and for fans around the world, it remains a true cultural landmark.
I jumped straight into sketching. After discussing concepts with the owners, we finalized the design and got to work. The entire mural was completed in just three and a half days under 95°F heat (probably not my smartest decision), but my excitement left no room for hesitation.
That week was unforgettable. I met dozens of incredible people, and every day felt like a small celebration — full of laughter, conversations, and kindness. Local bakers even brought pastries, and everyone made me feel so welcome. That’s the true power of community.
Most importantly, this mural now carries a piece of my story: people will know it was painted by a Belarusian artist. For me, it’s a way to share a part of Belarus with the world — to spark curiosity, build connection, and keep our culture alive in unexpected places.
